Ok, and we are off to Vegas via road trip. Kathy, Cheryl and myself were ahead and meeting up with Colleen and Mary in Wickenberg at of course McDonalds. Have to start the trip with some people fuel.
OH NO not with the pictures already!
Fries and Soda, the way to start the day
Colleen and Mary prefer chicken wraps and "fluffy" coffee!
To be different and save a few more dollars for the machines we stayed downtown at the Golden Nugget. Actually I found the downtown area to be cleaner than the strip, didn't have all the strange folks passing out girlie cards. The hotel was really very nice and I do believe the rooms were bigger than on the strip. We enjoyed the stay there but I'd really rather pay a bit more and stay on the strip as it is sort of a hassle to do the cab ride back and forth. Although one could equate it to the old "E" ride at Disneyland.
We spent Friday night downtown, ate at the Golden Nugget cafe, wandered around some of the casinos and viewed the Fremont Experience Light show. Listened to a street band and watched a He/"SHE" dancing to the music, didn't manage to get His/Her picture, but as you can see by some of the expressions HE/SHE was Priceless!
I think they were trying to figure out where he had hid his "package" as he had on a very very short dress!
Of course when you don't get up and down to breakfast in Vegas until almost noon why you have to start the day with a Vegas Bloody Mary!
Now with this many women you know you're going to run out of shampoo, lotion etc, so what's a woman to do? Well in our case we happened to have a very brave woman who took control and got the needed supplies.
MMM now what and how many?
Get those little legs running!
I did it!
All because Mary just had to go look at some tops in the Golden Nugget shop, well needless to say we all came out with some Vegas Bling Shoes!
Off to get tickets to Jersey Boys and then we headed to the strip for the afternoon and evening. We wandered a few casinos, did some window shopping and took some group pictures. Then Cheryl and Colleen were wanting a soda so we decided to stop in at this little bar/lounge in the shops at the Venetian. Well it just so happens we were in time for their happy hour, so much for a quick soda. The absolute best Mojitos, and lemon drop martinis, chips and salsa and the bartenders were pretty good too! Oh yes Mary really liked the Kalua and cream, but has decided it's most certainly an after dinner drink, not a sit in bar and drink, drink. make sense?
Oh yes and forgot the main reason for going was Kathy's big birthday. we won't say which one tho!
The bartender bought her a pineapple infused tequila mmmm wasn't bad!
That's a water, Kaluha and cream and a bourbon and 7 , no wonder wasn't feeling too well the next day.
The ever famous shoe shot
What a Group. Group shot in the Venetian area
Jersey Boys was great! it s a must see show in Vegas, Cheryl & I have seen it twice now, first time for the others and they too enjoyed it.
A great time was had by all. Must say we really didn't do a lot, some food to keep our strength up, starbucks in the morning while getting ready, good thing they were located right off the elevator lobby floor of our tower rooms, little shopping, some fantastic drinks, great show, lost a little money playing machines, craps and roulette. But the best part was being together again , laughing and just having fun. As Cheryl and Colleen grew up together since first grade, Cheryl has worked and known Kathy for 20+ years. As I used to watch Colleen and her brother Mike after school, Mary and I have know each other longer than we can remember.
So as they used to say in the movies "That's all Folks" well until next time.
So remember to Live, Laugh, Love and oh yes a little Wine!
